Conveniently located on Rt 44 in Canton CT, Kosha yoga is your place to pause, connect and renew. We offer a mix of old and new philosophy. Yoga is a 5,000 year old philosophy that means to “yoke” or “harness”. This is intended to mean in terms of the mind. What this looks like now in comparison to what it looked like for yogis thousands of years ago is not the same. While they may have been looking to disconnect from the movement of the world by sitting in meditation for long periods of time, life for us looks different today.
We at Kosha yoga hold the intention to guide students not toward removing oneself from life, but toward a deeper awareness and engagement in the way we receive and respond to life. Through connection with breath, body, movement and focus we find the opportunity to notice more keenly how we currently hold ourself in comparison to how we would like to. A regular yoga practice can usher in more patience, a deeper ability to manage stress and a calmer demeanor.
