Melissa Donaldson began her yoga practice in her 20’s, looking for something to get back into shape after having her first child. Quickly realizing that yoga held more meaning and benefit than simply the physical, she began practicing daily. She started teaching in 2012, and now her children are the same age as she was when she first stepped on the mat!
Her vinyasa classes are challenging yet accessible to those just starting out. With modifications offered and detailed instruction encouraging proper alignment, students can build upon and strengthen their existing yoga practice.
Her gentle classes encourage beginners to yoga and/or students with injuries to reconnect with their strengths by incorporating light core engagement and slower transitions between postures. The use of props such as blocks, straps and blankets help to maintain balance and support. Students will improve balance, increase range of motion in the joints, and improve flexibility.
Her happy place is leading yoga classes in a positive, vibrant community where students and teachers alike can grow their practice by supporting and encouraging one another.
